With the purpose of supporting the reduction of the digital divide and providing tools to the women of Camino Verde, which allow them to obtain better opportunities for education, employability and social inclusion, Tijuana Innovadora through Casa de las ideas invites the course Women and Digital Media, An inclusion strategy, carried out with the support of The Kroc School Institute for Peace and Justice 2024, at the University of San Diego.
The director of this course, Issa Tuxpan, indicated that it will be carried out in person at Casa de las ideas and will begin the second week of September, with module 1: basic computing; followed by module 2: Digital internet tools for optimizing work and homework, during the month of October; and the third and last module in November on Social Networks for small businesses.
“We are interested in facilitating knowledge and access to the use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), but we also want to do it in a responsible manner to contribute to the prevention of violence against women, who are often easy targets for extortion and digital violence due to lack of knowledge,” he commented.
